Patching takes the form of first aid, wounds hastily bandaged shut and shaken minds reassured by calming words. These temporary measures can help to protect you, but hastily bandaged wounds are easily re-opened, and reassurance often rings hollow in the face of a renewed threat.

Patching is added to Toughness when defending against a Violence attack. After being hit with a Violence attack (whether or not a Wound is dealt) you lose all Patching. You can have Patching equal to your Max Toughness - your Current Toughness.

Patching can be applied with Skills such as Medical, First Aid, a Constitution with healing abilities, or any other Skill that is reasonable to the manner of damage that has been dealt to the target. Actions apply around 4 Patching * the Rating of the effect.
